Toronto’s Porter Airlines announced Dec. 6 that it is adding another new route to their schedule at Winnipeg Richardson International Airport. The new flight will connect Winnipeg to Ottawa International Airport (YOW) with a daily flight starting May 16, 2024.

“This new service will provide everyone who lives and works in Manitoba with greater access to the endless opportunities awaiting them in the nation’s capital, reinforcing our commitment to working with our partners to enhance connectivity and offer more choice,” said Nick Hays, president and CEO at Winnipeg Airports Authority.  We’re excited to see Porter Airlines grow their presence in our community, just a few months after we welcomed them to YWG, as it’s a true testament to the strength of our relationship.”

The new service will also provide connections to Boston, Charlottetown, Fredericton, Halifax, Moncton, New York, Thunder Bay, Toronto-Pearson, Toronto-City and St John’s via Ottawa.

Porter expanded into the Manitoba market for the first time this fall, with the airline starting twice-daily service between Winnipeg and Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Sept. 7.

The company expanded into Western Canada in 2023, first with flights between Ottawa and Vancouver starting July 26. Since then, the airline has added service between Victoria and Toronto, and Edmonton and Ottawa. Porter also announced Dec. 4 it will start flights connecting Montreal to Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver in spring 2024.

All Porter routes also offer service features that include complimentary premium snacks, beer and wine, and free WiFi.

Porter Airlines was launched in Toronto in 2006.
