Steinbach Credit Union chief retail and brand officer Celina Philpot has been named the new CEO at Regina-based Conexus Credit Union. She will be the first woman to hold the position at Conexus.
“As a first-generation Canadian, I understand the importance of commitment, hard work, drive, and community. I integrate these qualities into my work and leadership style by challenging and empowering leaders at all levels to think differently, approach challenges creatively, and inspire collective action that achieves positive results for members, the organization, and the community at large,” said Philpot. “I am so grateful and humbled by the opportunity to work with Conexus Credit Union which has a solid reputation throughout Canada for being progressive, innovative and member-centric. Conexus has demonstrated its ability to create value and improve the financial well-being of its members and community and I look forward to working with the Board of Directors, Executive Management Team and employees to serve our members and live out our purpose.”
Philpot has worked in the credit union system for over 25 years, holding several senior positions at SCU. She has an MBA from Royal Roads University and Master of Project Management from the University of Winnipeg.
“As part of our search to find a new CEO, we created a new sub-committee on our Board, the CEO Search Committee. A huge thank you to our board members on this committee as well as to Leaders International Executive Search, who helped lead and conduct a robust search to attract incredible talent,” said Mark Borgares, Conexus Credit Union board chair. “Celina’s extensive experience in the credit union system, vision for success, community focus, action orientation, commitment to credit union values, and her passion for leadership and innovation align with Conexus’ priorities and strategy and will be key to leading Conexus into the future and helping us improve the financial well-being of our members and community.”
Philpot will join Conexus on September 26, 2022.
