The braintrust at Manitoba Inc. can no longer deny it — podcasts are here to stay. So, we’re going to jump on board early in 2025 with our very own. (Catchy name still to be decided).
Podcasts have become much more mainstream in the last year or two and are now table stakes rather than a differentiator. We’re only two years old but we need to be nimble and move with the times. (An old editor of mine at the Winnipeg Free Press, Julian Rachey, scoffed at me years ago for saying I was going to search for something online. “The Internet? Pfffft! It’s just a fad!”) We are well beyond the back-of-the-napkin stage as we’ve already got a host, long-time Winnipeg journalist Eleanor Coopsammy, and we’re finalizing our launch plans.
After spending much of her career in front of a TV camera at CTV Winnipeg, she is now working in media relations at the University of Manitoba. Welcome to the Manitoba Inc. team, Eleanor!
